Church of the Valley (COTV)
is a church in Salt Lake City committed to reaching all of Utah with the gospel. These spring turkey hunt + partnership trips are designed to give pastors and leaders a front-row seat to the spiritual landscape of our state while enjoying an unforgettable time in the mountains chasing turkeys.

THE EXPERIENCE
This is mountain turkey hunting, so the style is a bit different. Expect a mix of hiking, walking, and spot-and-stalk. Plan for moderate hiking at elevation and a few miles each day. If you prefer a more stationary setup, we can place you on a hillside with decoys. But our most effective strategy is to hit a trailhead, call every 500 yards, and try to strike a gobbler.

WHY THIS TRIP MATTERS
God is doing something special across our state and we want you to be a part of it! Every church planter claims to serve in the most unreached places—Utah is truly one of them. We’ve often described Utah as “Pre-Christian” in nature. We want you to see the work that God is doing firsthand and consider how your church might partner with us. Utah is literally the best kept secret in Christian missions!

Salt Lake City is one of the most unreached metro areas in North America. Out of 2.8 million people in Salt Lake City, only an estimated 50,000–60,000 attend a Christian evangelical church across the 293 churches statewide. When we use the term “Christian Evangelical” we are painting broad strokes of denominations and networks. Basically 98% of our city is either atheist, agnostic, or LDS-influenced. To give some perspective we have over 5,000 LDS congregations and 20+ LDS Temples in our state alone.

This is a zero bait-and-switch trip.
We’ll be up front: this trip includes an invitation to partner with us both financially and with resources. But whether you choose to partner or not, we simply want pastors and leaders to come experience what God is doing here.

OUR GOALS FOR THESE TRIPS

1. Turkey Hunting & Hospitality
Share the outdoors we love, build friendships, talk ministry, and make memories while chasing mountain gobblers.

2. Financial Partnership
We are praying for **$150,000 raised during these two weeks to support to the following:
  • Outreach Events - Valley Kids Camp
  • Church Planting Residency - Fund future church planting
  • Facilities - Upgrades and Future Location.
**In one time gifts and/or monthly giving.
3. Sending People to Utah
We’re asking churches to consider sending mission-minded members to relocate to Utah to live as long term missionaries here. We are asking for churches to send potential staff with a commitment to help fund ½ their salary for 1-3 years to help ensure longevity of the ministry here in Utah.

We’re sorry to hear that, but we’d still love to stay connected. If you’re interested in future vision trips or partnering with Church of the Valley, we’d be glad to talk. We can set up a call, Boyd can come visit in person, or we can plan a future hunt or fly-fishing trip. We are currently exploring options for Fly Fishing & Partnership Trips in the near future.
